The future tense can be confusing because it is not expressed like the past tense. Verbs do not change. Instead, we add helping verbs and use the perfect tense to express specific actions.  We also use the present tense to talk about the future with the help of adverbs of time.

General Rules for Consideration

Rule  Use the simple future to make predictions and state facts.

Rule  Use the present continuous to express intentions possibly prearranged (plan or hope to do). Used mostly when speaking.

Rule  Use the future perfect and future perfect continuous for specific events and when talking about the past in the future.

Rule  Use the present to talk about the future.
